Flying Falcon Summer 7

Message from the Headmaster:

Half term, and the summer sun we had, seem ages ago. We had our staff briefing on Monday morning and it became very evident how short this half term is and how much we have got planned. The events season is here and the challenge is on! The staff have been beavering away getting ready for all of the upcoming school events whilst also writing reports. We had the Early Years Sports Day on Wednesday and the Key Stage 1 Sports Day today. The beauty of having been at the school a while, is that I can see how much our boys have grown up and progressed over their time here. The Reception boys who were reluctant participants last year, all happily partook with smiles on their faces. We decided to include parent races this year, which I especially enjoyed watching. The dads in particular were so competitive and it was wonderful to see Theo P’s granny run in the mums’ race! We often focus on the academics in school, so it was fantastic to see the boys excelling on the sports field. I would like to say huge congratulations to Mr Grant for completing his 100KM walk for charity over the half term. He raised over £1,000 for Mind – the mental health charity. The boys have all been bringing in their pennies for our Penny Drive. It is very close indeed, but Blue at the moment is in the lead!!! We are running this for one more week; the winners could be absolutely any team.

I will be sending out class lists and staffing arrangements for the next academic year today. These have been very carefully thought out and the attention to detail could not have been better. Every single boy will be in excellent hands in the classes they have been allocated. The team in place for September is exceptionally strong and I whole heartedly believe that we are in for yet another outstanding year.

Please keep next Saturday free for our Summer Fair; it is always an amazing event.

We are preparing a collage of photographs from both of the Sports Days for next weeks newsletter. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and please click HERE for the rest of this week’s newsletter.
