Welcome to Falcons Pre-Prep, based in Chiswick, London. We are a leading independent day school for boys aged 2 – 7, including a co-educational Nursery for girls and boys aged 2 – 4.
We are first and foremost specialists in Early Years education and we foster a love of learning through delivering a broad, balanced, exciting and stimulating curriculum which has been carefully tailored to suit this young age group.
The school, formerly known as Faulkner House Boys, was founded in 1956, and at that time located in Notting Hill. In September 1989 the school transferred to its present site in Burnaby Gardens, changing its name to The Falcons and in September 2021, we opened a new nursery class for 2 year olds that is also co-educational.
From the moment you walk through our blue front door, you can hear the buzz of happy, confident children. Our classroom teachers are supported by classroom assistants across all year groups, providing us with a low teacher to pupil ratio which ensures that each and every child receives all the individual attention and support that he or she may require.
Physical activity, through sport or practical lessons, is an important part of a Falcons Pre-Prep student’s everyday schedule along with weekly Outdoor Learning sessions for our Nursery and Reception children, led by our Head of EYFS who is also a qualified Forest Schools practitioner. Music, French, Art, PE and ICT lessons are all taught by specialist teachers.
We pride ourselves on being a school of options. For parents looking for entry at 7+ to other leading independent schools, we work closely with these families to help them choose the right school for their son, and then assist and help prepare the boys for the 7+ exams. Being part of the Inspired Education Group, we also have excellent links with other schools such as Chepstow House and Wetherby Prep where many of the boys will have preferential entry if the school is the right fit for his learning needs. Either way, our goal is to ensure a successful future of learning.
For girls leaving us at 4+, we prepare them for both selective and non-selective schools. Our girls will gain entry into one of the many wonderful independent or state schools in the area, depending on what is the best fit for your daughter and your family.
The core values of our school are Courage, Curiosity and Care and we are proud that every boy who leaves the Falcon’s Pre-Prep at the end of Year 2 displays these values in all that he does. We have high expectations of our pupils, emphasising the positive ways in which they conduct themselves within our school community and in the wider world.
