How do I register?
You can register your child at any time after birth and places are offered on a first come first served basis. Registration is through our online system called OpenApply and there is a registration fee of £100. If there is a waiting list for your chosen cohort you will only be added once you have registered your child.
Can I visit the school?
Yes, we love welcoming visitors to our school. We hold regular open mornings – please check our website for details. You are also welcome to book a one-to-one tour which will include a meeting with our Headmistress, Mrs Sara Williams-Ryan. Please contact the admissions office to arrange admissions@falconschiswick.co.uk
At what age can children join Falcons Pre-Prep Chiswick?
Children may join our nursery in the September after they turn 2. If there is space available earlier, then they may join us the term after they turn 2. Please ask to be placed on our waiting list at the time of registration if you require this option.
We also have an intake at 4+ into our Reception class. Occasional places in other year groups may be available.
Is the Nursery co-ed?
Yes, we have been welcoming girls into our Nursery since September 2021. The main school (Reception to Year 2) remains all boys.
How is the Nursery structured?
Our Nursery school is divided into two year groups who are combined for most of the day:
Mini Falcons for boys and girls aged 2-3 years old
Little Falcons for boys and girls aged 3-4 years old
Throughout the day, the children will spend time within one of our four zones of learning, playing, eating or sleeping/resting. Each of the zones is strategically organized to optimize their learning and social development.
Can my child do full days? Do you offer part time places?
Our Nursery offers the option of morning sessions only (including lunch) or full days. Morning sessions run from 8.30am to 12.30pm with full days ending at 5.00pm (there is the option to pick up at 3.10pm)
We require all of our Little Falcons to attend 3 full days per week during the term preceding their entry into Reception.
What are the term dates for Nursery?
Both our Mini Falcons and Little Falcons follow the same term dates as the rest of the school. Please click here.
What are your teaching ratios? Staff:students
We adhere to the required standard requirements as defined by the Early Years Statutory Framework.
Does Entry in the Nursery guarantee a definite place in the main school?
If you accept a place for your son in our Nursery school and we are able to meet all of his needs as stated in the SEND section of our Admissions Policy, he will receive automatic entry into Reception at 4+.
Where will my daughter move on to after attending Little Falcons?
We prepare our girls for both selective and non-selective schools. Our girls will gain entry into one of the many wonderful independent or state schools in the area, depending on what is the best fit for your daughter and your family. If your family is moving outside of the area, we will work hard to help you find a suitable school in your new location.
What are the options for my son at 7+?
Boys leaving us at the end of Year 2 have the option of progressing through to other schools within the APG group, for example Wetherby Prep or Chepstow House. In addition we can, depending on your son’s ability and your wishes, also prepare him for the highly competitive 7+ school entry route for many of the leading London day and boarding schools.
When will places be offered?
We send our offers out 15 months prior to your requested start date.
Do you offer wraparound care?
We offer full wraparound care from 8.00am to 5pm during term-time (to 6pm subject to availability – requires a minimum number of students) as well as Holiday Clubs in the major school holidays which are run by our own members of staff.
Are lunches included in Nursery care?
Yes, lunches are included if your child attends morning sessions or full day sessions in the Nursery.
Are you a selective school?
We are a non-selective school and places are offered based on date of registration. Therefore early application is advised.
How do I secure my child’s place?
Once your child has been offered a place you will need to pay the deposit of £1000 which is returnable when your child leaves the school (please see our Terms and Conditions for further details).
What after school clubs do you offer?
We pride ourselves on the number of after school clubs we offer our children, the majority of which are included in the fees. The clubs are offered on a rotation basis as some of them are very popular and we like to give all the students the opportunity to participate in at least one of their first choice clubs. The choices of clubs change each term and can include multisport, cypher coding, judo, golf, Mandarin, construction, art, ukulele, pottery, cooking and many, many more.
Can my child learn an instrument?
We currently provide lessons in piano, violin, cello, guitar, flute, clarinet, recorder and trumpet. If there is demand for another instrument we would do our best to provide tuition for that too. Boys may begin lessons from Reception although by their nature, some instruments are more suited to the older boys.
How much are the school fees?
